Enjoy the great outdoors and explore unknown worlds with the 2022 Summer Discovery program, “Read Beyond the Beaten Path!”

Readers of all ages sign up online at moval.org/mv-library/summerdiscovery or in-person at any Moreno Valley Public Library branch to join the summer-long reading challenge. Summer reading helps prepare children for academic success and benefits everyone with improved analytical thinking, focus and concentration.

Online registration begins Saturday, June 11th, and the program begins Monday, June 13th, through Saturday, August 6th. Participants receive for free a book and packet of wildflower seeds, while supplies last.

Summer Discovery readers log their reading online or on paper; use their logged reading points each week at the library for a prize. Completion of literacy challenges, like attending a story time at the library, are awarded digital badges.  Final day, Saturday, August 6th, ends with an Open Mic finale and grand prize drawings. For more great summer fun, check out the calendar of events.

Summer Discovery and Lunch at the Library programs are underwritten by the Moreno Valley Friends of the Library and in part funded by the State Library.
